Amphioxus

Amphioxi (also called "lancelets") belong to a group of benthic chordates. They are fish-like, in that they are similar to primative fish, but use their gills for feeding and not respiration, and their circulatory system transports nutrients and lacks hemoglobin (used for oxygen transport).
