Planet Ocean?

Our planet really should be called "Ocean" as the "Earth" only covers 29% of earth’s surface, while the oceans cover the remaining 70%.

The ocean floor - or abyssal plane - begins at the base of continental rise. Most of what's under the ocean surface are still unknown.

In the next few pages, you'll learn about the different features found on the seafloor.

Pie chart showing the percentages of the features of the oceans: Land (33%), Ocean Floor (34%), Spreading Centers (25%), Continental Rise (4%), Islands, seamounts, trenches (4%).
