Recurring Meteor Showers and Comets

Leonid meteor shower

The shower forms due to the trail of dust left behind by Comet Tempel-Tuttle in 1767. Comet Tempel-Tuttle orbits the sun every 33.25 years


Perseid Meteor Shower

This meteor shower is due to Comet Swift-Tuttle. It is usually visible in early August.
