Harnessing Wave Energy

Waves have tremendous energy. With the popularity of alternative energy sources, we need to learn how to use this energy.

Most of the energy is associated with large storm waves. Storms can do an incredible amount of damage, so it is important to conciser how to protect power plants and how to produce power consistently when there isn't a storm. Environmental issues also need to be address, such as building power plants close to shore and the possibility of interfering with life and sediment movement. One possible solution is to build offshore power plants. However, many of these same issues would apply to offshore plants as well.
