Stop #8: Lower Arroyo Seco Channelization

Next ⇨

The Arroyo Seco continues south through Pasadena along the east side of the San Rafael Hills. Here the area widens and now accomodates the Rose Bowl, Brookside Golf Course, Brookside Park, Kidspace Museum, and the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center.

Continue south along Rosemont Blvd. from stop #7 until the intersection just past the Rose Bowl. Make a right onto Seco St., and then a left onto Arroyo Blvd. Follow Arroyo Blvd. south through the Arroyo; the name will change to San Pasqual Ave. at the South Pasadena City border. Make a left onto Stoney Drive at the baseball field and continue south until just after you go under the 110 Fwy. Find a safe place to park and then walk north a short distance to the fence that blocks entry to the wash. DO NOT ENTER THE WASH. From here you have a good vantage point to view the channelized Arroyo Seco.
